Identity verification evaluates a claimed identity through a defined process. Device and account-risk signals add context about the interaction and later activity. Start with the claim your service must verify, the population using it and the action that depends on the result.
Specify the assurance task
Document checks, liveness, business verification and ongoing monitoring answer different questions. Confirm the necessary workflow with the team responsible for the service. A product page offering several modules does not establish that one plan includes all of them.
Compare completion as well as detection
Review supported documents, geography, accessibility, language, mobile experience and exception handling. A legitimate applicant who cannot finish needs a recoverable route. Include operator review and resubmission in the evaluation instead of measuring only automated responses.
Continue protection after onboarding
A verified identity can later be accessed from a compromised session. Associate verification with the application’s account record and apply appropriate controls to login, recovery and sensitive changes. Keep verification results and ongoing device observations distinct so their meaning stays clear.

FAQ
Does verification replace account-risk monitoring?
No. Identity proofing and later account activity are different stages with different evidence.
Are verification and fraud-product prices interchangeable?
No. For example, Sumsub publishes verification unit prices and minimum commitments while broader Fraud Prevention has separate custom terms.
